Network Setup
Here's a quick guide to setting up a home or business
networking for 2 or more computers.
Here's a list of what you'll need to get started.
Ethernet cards, RJ45 cables and a hub.
I use netgear Fast ethernet 10/100 PCI cards and for
4 or more computers I use a linksys router switch to
keep all of my computers evenly matched on band use so
it doesn't slow down the other computers online.
If you have no idea of how to install these cards and
software seek a computer tech that can do this for you.
WARNING
It's not recommended for person's not familiar with
the inside of a computer to try to install you may either get shocked
or destroy something in your computer trying to get these
ethernet cards installed.

Hold down ALT key and left Click
Network Neighborhood 2 times

Make sure that it says Client for Microsoft Networks
Also make sure it has the TCP/IP>network adapter name
Make sure that the file and printer sharing it marked
Double click it and check mark the sharing.

Example: Look for the HP ethernet TCP/IP
This is where you have to put in the IP address
and subnet mask address

Make sure Share level access control is marked

On a regular in home network it sets up like this.

Don't put anything into this area.

Add in the first network computer address for
the gateway to share the internet access
with the new windows ME it has a share
program that needs to be installed and then
put on all other computers that are to be
sharing the internet on the main system.

This is how my identification is set up.
The workgroup setting is very important
since it is used to find the computers in the
network group. Match it up on all networked
systems.
